Joanne Waldman
With more than 30 years progressive experience in the career transition field encompassing career development, coaching, counseling, relocation, and work/life areas, Joanne has coached many individuals to change their careers, plan their retirement, or achieve personal goals. She has her own coaching practice- New Perspective Coaching.
For 18 years Joanne served as the Director of Training for Retirement Options, training coaches to use non-financial retirement assessments that look at the factors necessary for a successful retirement. In addition, Joanne offers training and mentoring for coaches in the career and retirement niches.
Joanne spent ten years training coaches for International Coach Academy located in Australia and then seven years training coaches for Coaching Cognition.
Joanne worked as a Senior Consultant for The Impact Group, a leading career/life consulting firm. Over the years, Joanne has served as a consultant to many companies in the process of downsizing and /or relocating and worked with professionals at a number of Fortune 500 companies including Monsanto, AT&T, General Motors, McDonnell Douglas/Boeing and Chrysler Corporation.

Joanne has a Master of Education in counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, both from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She graduated cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with an Honors Certificate, and was elected to Who’s Who both as an undergraduate and as a graduate student.
A Licensed Professional Counselor with national certification in general counseling, Joanne also serves as one of only 230 Nationally Certified Gerontological Counselors and was selected as one of 35 to participate in the Geriatric Scholar Fellowship Program through St. Louis University.
She is a Professional Certified Coach from the International Coaching Federation and a Board-Certified Coach via the Center for Credentialing and Education. She is a Certified Retirement Coach through Retirement Options.
Joanne was honored as an Outstanding Young Women of America, was one of the Past Presidents of the Missouri Career Development Association and was recognized as a corporate honoree with a Certificate of Leadership from the YWCA. In 2006, she was awarded the Citation of Merit for outstanding achievement and meritorious service from the University of Missouri Alumni Association and in 2009 she was honored as the Career Practitioner of the Year from the National Career Development Association. For many years, Joanne volunteered with Zonta, an international business and professional women’;s organization and served on their Woman’s Another Chance Scholarship Board. She also served on the Board for Radio Information Service, an organization for the visually impaired. For two years Joanne served on the board for the career counseling master’s program at the University of Missouri St. Louis. Currently Joanne serves on the board of the Retirement Coaches Association and frequently speaks at their national conference. Joanne is now a member at the Griffiths Women's Leadership Society at the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a member of the Life Planning Network. In 2021, Joanne received the coveted Retirement Catalyst Award from the Retirement Coaches Association.
